Giveaway time!

I drink a lot of coffee.  I mean, a lot.  I can't start a day without it and I drink multiple cups trough the morning.  I've been a coffee drinker since junior high school and I don't plan to quit anytime soon.  But, it comes with a price.

Years ago as I started to really get into acting and modeling my dentist pointed out I should be bleaching my teeth.  I wan't aware of it until he told me.  So I started, and haven't stopped.  The results were night and day.

Having a sparkly smile and white teeth are a must.  It's a small something that makes a huge difference with not only a healthy, and professional look, but with confidence.  No matter what profession you're in.

I'm always looking at teeth and smiles, and taking care of mine as best as I possibly can.  It's something that's really important to me.  Some of my favorites are below.

Not all of us have movie star money to get movie star smiles.  Be it veneers, laser whitening, custom trays, etc.  Or if you do have your own bleaching trays (I do), sometimes you need a break from bleach that can feel sensitive, or from wearing the trays themselves.

Recently, I got to try a new product.  It's called Lumist Advanced Teeth Whitening Strips.  First of all, let me tell you I won't review, promote, or giveaway a product that I didn't like.  Promise.

And the lumist strips I liked.  They are comfortable, and secure.  And yes, they work! My teeth are already on the whiter end, but this helped to brighten, and maintain, as they promise to whiten up to five shades and provide the power of a tray.

That's pretty cool if you ask me.  Plus, it saves you a pricey trip to the dentist.

So, wanna try some? I've got some to give you!

Here's how:

American Hustle Style

It's almost time to start thinking about spring wardrobes, but it's still cold out! And faux fur coats are so hot right now! Thanks to American Hustle, I don't think this trend is going anywhere for awhile.

Everything comes back again, which is why I have a hard time getting rid of things.  I had an awesome black shaggy faux fur in high school.  Wish I had it now.  Over the years I've built up a mini collection.

I'm so excited about my newest addition.  I'll tell you right now that I never buy super expensive things.  I'd rather spend less, so that I can buy more.  Most of what I own comes from Forever 21, Target, and the occasional piece from Urban Outfitters.  Yup, you heard me.

You don't have to spend hundreds of dollars to find a gorgeous faux fur, or spend hours scouring thrift stores.  I've compiled a list for you from the places I shop below, including the one I'm wearing.

Disco Doll Shag Jacket

Brio Tweet Up!

Last month I was invited to Brio at City Creek for a Tweet Up.  I was told I could bring a guest, and upon checking in we were taken to a private room with one long dinner table.  We sat at the middle of the table and soon it was filled with movers and shakers in SLC, all of whom have a large social media presence.  I brought my boyfriend, and we found ourselves next to Janet Thaeler, and across from Brittany Graham and her husband.  Turns out he knew Brittany and her husband already!

Two waiters took care of us through the night, both going above and beyond.  They started by asking who'd be drinking alcohol and then told us who were that there would be two drinks.  The first they'd choose for us, the second we'd get to pick from the menu.

Appetizers and salads came next.  Everything was served to us family style.  We got to pass around and sample several things this way.

The waiters were careful to ask about food allergies, and if there were any vegetarians.  There were both, so they brought quite a few main dishes to suit everyone.

Dessert was my favorite part.  Who doesn't want to sample nearly everything from a dessert menu?

The hashtag for the event was #briotweetup and since there were several nights of this, it was fun to search for it afterward on various social media sites to see who else had gone.

I hadn't known who anyone was previously at our table, and when I searched the hashtag, I was surprised to discover more really big social media folks right here in SLC.

What a good idea, right? A great way to make new connections, another example of how important and useful social media and hashtags can be, and of course what great promotion for the restaurant.  Job well done.  Being taken care of so well only makes me anxious to go back.

And look, I'm STILL talking about it!

It was super delicious, too.  Among my favorites were the strawberry mojito, roasted red pepper bruschetta, chicken limone, and a little pumpkin dessert with ice cream.  It's pictured, but I can't seem to remember the name, or find it online! At least I can show you what it looks like.

Happy New Year!

"And now we welcome the new year, full of things that have never been”
-Rainer Maria Rilke

All is new. With a new year comes a fresh start and the chance to begin again. Rebirth and reinvention are essential through life, so what better way to express all of the above than with a new blog? This one will let you in on the ins and outs of my life a lot more. I'll be posting a weekly entry (at least) accompanied with pictures! This is the place for me to tell you about current and upcoming projects, give you sneak peeks into what I'm up to, and let you in on where I'm currently shopping, dining, and exploring in Salt Lake City. I'll also tell you what I'm reading, watching, listening to, as well as who/what's inspiring me at the moment. I'm excited to shout out my favorite artists, hairdressers, makeup artists, designers, photographers, and so much more here, too!

Want me to review? Interview? Test and blog about a product? Email me!

For those of you who've been loyal followers of my blog The Shapeshifting Poet that digs a little deeper with posts full of emotion, poetry and insight, don't worry! It's not going anywhere, and I'll still update there as well. This is the place for fun, short and sweet, yet still personal. Interactive, and inclusive.

Over the weekend I did my first photo shoot of the new year. It was also the first shoot I've done with my boyfriend! My mom is a photographer, owner of Lauren's Photography and shot us in Pepperwood. Pepperwood is a gated community of huge, beautiful homes in Sandy, UT. My aunt lives there, so we shot around outside of her house. It was freezing, but worth it. I love the results.
